Real Pittsburgh Family | Hartwood Acres Family Session

I always enjoy meeting new families! I was happy to be contacted from a family that had recently relocated to Pittsburgh and wanted family photos that featured beautiful fall leaves and colors. We enjoyed walking around Mansion at Hartwood Acres (and getting a little muddy in the process!) 

How did you and your spouse meet? 

We met while attending Ohio State University for our undergrad degrees.

How many children are in your family?

We have four children.

Are you from Pittsburgh? If not, when did you move to Pittsburgh?

We moved to Pittsburgh in August, relocation for work in order to be closer to family.

What are 3 adjectives that describe your family.

Our family is crazy, rowdy, fun!

What are your family's favorite things to do in and around Pittsburgh?

We're pretty new but we're loving the fall colors and rolling hills.

What are your family's favorite movie(s) and/or book(s)?

Harry Potter is our recent obsession but we love Super Heroes too, both DC and Marvel.

What is/are your family's favorite food(s) or restaurant(s)?

Burgers, for sure!  Burgatory might be one of the Pittsburgh favorites!

Share a funny family memory. 

We giggle a lot but many of the funnies are because of the three boys and all the silliness (and inappropriateness) that surrounds A bunch of boys!

What does your family enjoy doing together? 

As a family we enjoy hiking, cooking, reading, listening to music.

Tell us a little about family vacations. Maybe the best vacation you ever had or a favorite vacation destination etc. 

We love vacations at the lake house, also big fans of the beach!

Your family is so much fun and enjoys being together! How did you get so close? 

We lived on top of each in a tiny house in California, no room to not be close 😉

Why did you decide to have your family portraits taken by a professional photographer? 

I (mom) am addicted to pictures, they are everywhere in the house. I like being up to date as the kids grow and change.

How did you decide what to wear to your portrait session? 

I found a darling shirt for the youngest boy and then built around that.

What was your favorite portrait from your family session? 

Group hug! It's our Christmas card.

If any of your personal items were used during the portrait session, where were they from? Target, Pottery Barn, Etsy, etc. 

Most clothes were from Target. My scarf is from Gap.
