Ella & Tutu: The Inaugural Tour | Pittsburgh Child PhotographerElla & Tutu: The Inaugural TourStory by Anna Mares. Doll by Lenna McGraw. Photography by Laura Mares Today is Inauguration Day!
Ella ran for President, as some already know, and she won! Hops had other business in Stuffed-topia, so she asked Tutu to travel in her place with Ella. Their first stop on the Victory tour is the Jefferson Memorial, and Ella and Tutu enjoy the morning horizon at the top of the marble staircase that leads to their next destination.
They take heed to the “Be Quiet” sign and murmur in hushed tones to each other. Ella is quite tired, she’s surprised by the new found stress that comes with being President. She gives Tutu a weary hug before they continue.
Ella and Tutu begin to slow dance under the huge shadow of Thomas Jefferson.
Ella scrambles onto a bench in order to catch a better view of the past president.
She points to the marble structure and tells herself she wants to be a great president like him. She wonders when she will be on a coin just like Thomas Jefferson is on a nickel.
Ella looks around some more.
Out of no where comes a lady who seems to have recognized Ella from the news. Tutu giggles as the lady poses for the camera with her new friend (and President.)
The next monument they visit is the Washington Monument.
It is really windy, so Ella and Tutu push back the hair in their eyes in order to pose for the pictures near the Washington Monument. Ella is proud to be an American, and live in a country with so many great presidents.
Tutu is the first one to notice George and Martha, and begs Ella to let them take a picture. It reminds them both of the old times. Ella reminds Tutu on how grateful she is that they could fulfill another journey together.
Ella has the brilliant idea to try and throw Tutu to the top of the monument, but it is just to high! Ella is disappointed and sulks on a bench.
Tutu reminds her that they still have more fun things to do, and cheers Ella up. They continue their walk, but this time in the direction of the Capitol Building.
Ella sets Tutu in front of her and poses for the camera in a serious shot while she searches the map to find where the tours start.
She has figured out the map, and carries Tutu piggy back style, as they continue their great Inaugural tour.
Once they got inside, Tutu’s favorite part was the large dome.
As they are walking home, Ella rehearses her speech for the following morning in front of the Capitol.
In her first presidential speech, she restates her campaign slogan, promising hugs to the lonely, sweet smiles for all, and pink icing on every cupcake! The imaginary crowd goes wild. Tutu is proud of her best friend, Ella.
