Interview with a South Hills Mom | Pittsburgh Newborn PhotographerInterview with a South Hills Mom | Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer
When was your baby born? Our baby was born on 04/12/17.
What was your baby's height and weight at birth? 20.5inches. 7.6lbs
Was your baby early, late or on time? He was two days early.
What area of Pittsburgh do you call home? We live in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
What was your first thought when you found out you were pregnant? OMG!! We did it! We had been trying for a while and FINALLY!! We were pregnant.
How did you tell your parents you were expecting? We had just gotten a puppy. Actually. We made arrangements to get a white German shepherd puppy, I graduated with my bachelors, and found out we were pregnant all in the same weekend. But, we went to my dads to show him the puppy and we nonchalantly said he's not the only new baby. Needless to say my step mother was the first to pick up on it.
How did you style the nursery? Simple. He won't really use it for at least 6 months.
How did you chose your baby's name? My husband really liked the name Cameron. I wasn't completely sold. We had a list of a couple names we would both agree upon and we were going to decide when the baby was born. Out came Cameron Daniel. And we agreed on the spot. What are you looking forward to doing with your baby? CHRISTMAS! It's my favorite holiday. Well all holidays. And our first vacation. Our first trip to the beach. His first football game. All his firsts!! Write 3 adjectives that describe your newborn baby. Our baby is a cutie. sweetie and a snuggle bunny. Share a piece of advice to an expecting mom. All movies are lies! Don't be fooled. Newborns are hard work and a lot of effort. Be prepared for the first two weeks with freezers meals or someone to cook. Luckily my magical husband is a great chef and made all our meals the first two weeks. A good friend to talk to and a friend or relative who has been through it. You will have a lot of questions and need a lot of support. Also, there really isn't much you need to bring to the hospital. I WAY over packed. And I tried hard not to. The hospital has everything. Do all kinds of things with your husband. Once the baby gets here they need ALL your attention, but be sure to try to give your husband some too. What has been the biggest struggle since coming home from the hospital? SLEEP. I love my sleep. And I haven't had solid sleep since I have birth. What was your favorite part of your newborn photo session? Seeing my little one posing for the camera. And learning a few tricks from Laura on how to calm a crying baby. It was a great experience and for us capturing our baby so small was a once in a lifetime chance. He will never be that small or new again. For us it was worth it. Why is newborn photography important to you? It was important to us to have professional pictures of our newborn so we could have very nice photos forever. We wanted to capture his tinyness in a unique and special way that you just don't get from regular photos. If any of your personal items were used during the portrait session, where were they from? Target, Pottery Barn, Etsy, etc. Elephant from amazon.
