Interview with a Pittsburgh Mom | Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer

I am excited to share newborn photos from this family that is new to Pittsburgh. This mom had amazing stories to share about her time in Huston during and after the hurricane this summer and moving to Pittsburgh with a brand new baby. 

When was your baby born?

Our baby was born on September 5, 2017.

What was your baby's height and weight at birth?

As a newborn he weighted, 8 pounds 15 ounces and he was 22 inches.

Was your baby early, late or on time?

He was one week early.

What area of Pittsburgh do you call home?

We live in the North Hills, Seven Fields.

What was your first thought when you found out you were pregnant? 

It was an unexpected pregnancy so shock! Once the doctor confirmed the pregnancy it was pure joy!

How did you tell the father you were expecting? 

I couldn’t wait so I called him at work at 7 a.m.!

How did you style the nursery? 

It’s black and white with some sports elements. There’s a picture of PNC Park and Nippert Stadium and we have a basket filled with footballs and baseballs.

How did you chose your baby's name? 

My husband has always wanted to name his son Major. He has two middle names. Both of our dad's names are Scott and my maiden name is Cole so he is Major Scott Cole Taggart.

What are you looking forward to doing with your baby? 

I look forward to getting to know him and watching him learn about everything around him. He already has so much personality and curiosity!

Write 3 adjectives that describe your newborn baby. 

He is a happy, loving and curious newborn baby.

Share a piece of advice to an expecting mom. 

Decide how you plan to track your baby’s growth before he or she gets here! I can’t believe how fast my baby has grown and nothing shows it more than pictures of him in his mamaroo chair or on a specific swaddle at different ages.

What has been the biggest struggle since coming home from the hospital? 

Finding time for me.

What was your favorite part of your newborn photo session? 

My favorite part was watching my husband help with soothing the baby and working to get him to cooperate. His concern was so sweet!

Why is newborn photography important to you? 

I want to have beautiful pictures to remember how he was when we brought him home.
