My husband and I were trying to decide whether to have our professional baby photos taken through a session with a big photo company or a private photographer. Remembering my own exhausted-looking childhood photos from the times when the store photographer was running hours behind schedule, we chose to go with a private professional. The session was cozy and relaxed, and Laura was both accommodating of our preferences and full of creative shot ideas. Despite all the new faces and stimulation baby James was experiencing, she and her assistant coaxed some beautiful smiles out of him. I was nervous about the final shots, because I couldn't tell during the session whether I was able to smile naturally while feeling preoccupied with what the baby was doing, but with Laura's positive and gentle coaching, our whole family looked wonderful.
